About Poor Yorick

We put out punk rock books, not books about punk rock.  Get it?
     A punk band need not sing about "punk" to be a punk band--the very idea is redundant.  By the same logic, a punk book need not directly narrate about it either.
     It could be argued we won the war (or at least carved out our own niche, which is all we ever wanted) against the music industry: independent labels are everywhere, and anyone who wants to take the time to develop their craft, write good music, and struggle as a starving artist can.  A band can spend a few hundred dollars on CD duplication; independent film garners praise on all levels; yet there is still one art form lagging behind:
     Despite technology making the production of books accessible to the average person, independent literature is still struggling to find its place.  It's time for the written word to start the same revolution that music and film have before them: to put out good art with uncompromising integrity in the face of a monetary-focused mainstream media. That is the ethos of Poor Yorick Publishing.
